Thoughts on Rain

For as long as I could remember, rain used to have a direct correlation to my happiness. Whenever the weather was bad, I would feel trapped, sad and uncomfortable. Then I visited the Portland Japanese Garden on a rainy day. How could something this beautiful exist? Oh, right—rain. This is not to say I prefer it but I get it. Sometimes we look too deep within ourselves we lose sight of the things in front of us.

Non-Apocalyptic Vacation

Way back when I wrote a post about a vacation dilemma. A friend and I were debating between a trip to Jamaica or Morocco. After taking a step back, reevaluating the reason for our trip which is the celebration of life, having survived the Mayan apocalypse, the signs were never more clear. No offense. I would love to visit Jamaica and Morocco but now they seemed a little irrelevant. Maybe next year? But more importantly, let's focus on this beautiful, pre-Columbian, Mayan wonderland known as Tulum, Mexico. There will be history lessons and environmental awareness all from the comfort of a mobile device while sitting on the beach, I'm predicting. See you in less than two months!

Post-Apocalyptic Vacation

I woke up that morning thinking, "Oh this again." "This" meaning life. The apocalypse did not take us and we are obviously alive. What better way to celebrate life than with a little vacation to somewhere no less than the best? My friend and I are in the process of planning a trip for this February or March. However, with great ideas come great dilemmas. We are torn between a resort vacation in Montego Bay, Jamaica and a guided tour of Morocco. They are both so great in their own ways especially in the dead of winter. And so I made an illustrated list of pros and cons of each country.

We will sleep on this in cold, cold Brooklyn and should reach a verdict this week.
